We are an active family of 5- (three teen girls) and trying to decide how to spend 4 days in Austria. (May 30-June 2)
We were thinking a couple of nights in Salzburg and in Vienna.
We are Sound of Music fans, but what is most attractive to us is the scenery.
For that reason, would it be crazy for us to do just a day trip (arriving by train from Munich) in Salzburg then rent a car and stay two nights in Altmünster am Traunsee? From there spending time hiking and going to the Sommerrodelbahn in Gruberg one day, maybe just a day by the lake?
Then going to Vienna?
Would it be nuts to go to Austria and not go to Vienna?
We need to be in Venice on June 2.
