My husband and I are traveling in Vienna in November for a week and want to use the Vienna 8-day travel card. My understanding is that we can use one travel card by stamping two strips per day. How do we use this in the metro? Do we have to validate this in machines? Since there are no tickets, how do we activate any gates to get into the subways? or are there no gates to get through to the subways? How does this "travel card" work? Thank you.
Gwen,

Here is something you need to keep in mind:
Note also that the 8-day card isn’t necessarily intended for 8 consecutive days travel. You stamp a stripe if and when you need it.
Enjoy your trip!
Thanks Priscilla . . . Reading the part about there being "no barriers" . . . I think I understand how the ticket works now.
You're welcome Gwen!
If you are travelling around those days, there is a weekly pass only available for one calendar week (Monday to Sunday) that is cheaper than the eight day one.
Philip makes a great point!
The Weekly Pass is certainly worth it at €16.20pp.

We're there from Friday to Friday, so I thought I'd buy the 8 day first . . .use it up for both of us, then go from there. Thank you all.
