Hello! Traveling to Vienna in early October staying for 3 days and looking to stay at The Art Hotel Vienna. Is this hotel close to the Ring? Easy walking distance to sights? Also, thinking about a day trip to innsbrook. Is this feasible? Thanks for any suggestions and help!!

First train to Innsbruck: 5:30am (arrives 9:44am)
Last train to Vienna: 8:17pm (arrives 12:30am)
"Sparschiene" ticket €24 (one-way).
Flight time from Vienna to Innsbruck: 1 hour
First departure: 6:40am
Return flight: 8:55pm
Return fare about €190.

The Art Hotel's home page is very euphemistic about the location of the hotel. It says it is in the center, but not of the city, it is in the center of the 5th city borough. The distance to the Ring boulevard is roughly 1.5 miles, not really walkable, and public transport connections are busses only.
Not really walkable to 'the sights', no.
It's about three blocks from the stop for the 59A bus, which is about a 10 minute ride to Karlsplatz (3 U-bahn lines) and the Staatsoper (on the ring). And for what it's worth, buses in Vienna are as good as the trams in terms of reliability and comfort. ;-)
If you choose this hotel, you will want a transit pass for your entire stay in Vienna.
