Taxi in Vienna City Center

Dear fellow travelers,

I have questions regarding taxi in Vienna.
We will travel from the Albertina Museum to Wien Hbf during day time on a weekday.
We have a total of 4 people in our group and a total of 4 pieces of carry-on luggage.

Do taxi drivers in the Vienna city center trust worthy?
Is the fare about 10 euros?
Is there any surcharge for the luggage?

My understanding is that we can
take U1 from Karlplatz for 2 stops
and get off at Sudtiroler Platz-Hauptbahnhof

And that's the original plan, as I do not want to concern being taken advantage of.

However, we have a situation that may require us to take a taxi instead.

Thank you,

FJ

I never had a problem with taxis in Vienna, but I never give the impression of an ignorant tourist.

I guess that you will not easily find a taxi at the Albertina taxi stand which is big enough for four passengers and four suitcases. For decades all taxis in Vienna had been Mercedes limousines, but now there are a lot smaller Asian cars.

Taxis are metered. You should be able to grab two taxis easily from Albertina/Opera. Subway would be easier and faster and cheaper.
