Switzerland and Austria 6-7 days

Hi We have anniversary vacation for 6-7 days flying to Zurich returning from Munich..
some suggestions so that Me n my hubby can enjoy This kidsfree trip. We are looking forward to are water sports,, boat rides in the lakes, river rafting, paragliding, mountain hiking etc
My itenarary looks like this:
3 nights in wengen

Salzburg -3 days
- day trips from there or inssbruck or zell aam see?
Munich 1 day

Which city should be the base in Austria( we are not covering Vienna due to distance and duration of the trip)
M still confused as to taking a rent a car or trains are better/cheaper way to travel between the 2 cities
specially traveling from Switzerland to Austria..
Where to stay in Austria:: is airbnb realiable to book a private room or apartment??

If you are looking for adventure sports I think Innsbruck could be a better base. Much of what you would want to do is more centrally located and easier to access via public transport from Innsbruck rather than Salzburg.

Take the train, it is easier and you both can enjoy the scenery. It only takes an extra hour or two, as well. Plus, one way drop fees and out-of-country drops (if allowed) will be pricey with a rental. And since Switzerland is involved, make that PRICEY.

I'm old school and prefer pensions over an AirBnB any day. Cost is about the same and I get breakfast included!
