I am planning on spending a few night in Vienna, in late November when the sunsets around 4pm each day. Has any one a recommendations for locations to take in the sunset over the city?

Ask your hotel. Not sure how many here were interested in sunset when in Vienna. Or maybe a tall hotel with a restaurant or bar on top

Ride the Ferris wheel at the Prater amusement park at dusk. There is a Winter/Christmas market there as well.
The cars are fully enclosed, so you aren't exposed to the elements.
