Suggestions for Birthday celebrations

Hi,
I have a very unusual question .

I am travelling in Austria between the 18th and 26th April .We are a group of 8 people travelling with 2 kids. My husband's birthday is on the 25th and I wanted to do something exciting (at the same time keep it as a surprise).Can you suggest some lovely places where we can spend the day and have lunch ?Which would be the best place to buy a birthday cake-I presume I will need to inform them in advance ?

Do you know where in Austria you will be on the 25th? Depending on the area or town the search can be narrowed.

And what type of transportation will you use?

I can't comment specifically on an American-style birthday cake, but bakeries are nearly ubiquitous in most Austrian towns, often attached to, but independent of, a grocery store. And as you may have read, Austrians make excellent cakes and pastries.
