Stubaital in Neustift, Austria

This summer I will be traveling to the Stubaital, Neustift area outside of Innsbruck. The Stubai card seems to be available in some lodging options.. For those travelers who may have experience with this card, is this worthwhile to be considering in selection for accommodations? Actually, is this Neustift area preferred to actually utilizing an Innsbruck hotel? Any websites that would help me in my research of this area for day excursions is welcomed. I am trying to learn about various options for a three day visit in August.

If you have a car then Neustift will be fine, but somewhat limiting on nightlife. The only way there is via bus. Tram ends in Fulmpes. The towns are basic, mainly with lodging for hikers and/or skiers. So the decision is based more upon your agenda than anything else.

Neustift is ok. Not the most spectacularly scenic, but not as crowded as Swiss Alpine destinations.

I would not have the guest card drive my lodging decision. Seems like bus travel is the main benefit. I have stayed in the Stubital twice. Both in early December and primarily as an alternative to Innsbruck. Visited innsbruck from both. From Mieders by bus and from Fulpmes on the Stubaitalbahn. I drove the valley by car. We wanted to visit the Top of Tyrol but it was closed due to snow.

Only once did I feel we really benifited from a guest card and that was summer in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis where the mountain lifts were free with the guest card then.
