Stubai or Zillertal

Hi everyone,
for August we would like to go to the Austrian Tyrol. It would be the first time and we are an Italian couple with a child who will be 23 months old.
Browsing around a bit, we narrowed our search to the Stubai Valley or the Zillertal, we can't decide.

We are definitely looking for a place where we can find simple walks for the child (and also armed with a stroller) accessible even without too many trips and at altitudes that are not absurd (I would say within 2000).

We will have the car to get around, but we would like to find something that allows us to go for walks even without using it.

We saw interesting hotels in: Fulpmes, and Neustfit in the Stubai and Fugen, Hippach, Rastau, Ried in the Zillertal.

Advice?

Thank you :)

Since your kid is so young, be sure not to reach high altitudes. He/she can't talk and therefore you won't know if they don't feel well.

This certainly, but we are still undecided because both areas have lower parts, without using the ski lifts.

Stubai is closer to Innsbruck that has more attractions, while Zillertal is more periferic.
If you choose a location in Stubaital, the highway to/from Innsbruck is to be paid each travel. You can use the tram to Innsbruck (itself an attraction), or I suggest to consider a monthly subscription to the highway.

I think Mayrhofen in the Zillertal is nice. Hotels can get pricey. The Penkenbahn is family friendly. Mayrhofen in summer usually has something going on, music, event etc. There are so many options to hike in the Zillertal. A drive to the Achensee, Gerlos, Tristner - Ginzling to the Schlegeis lake etc. I have only been to the Stubaital in winter.

Yes, we found some food hotel in Hippach and they seems so good. And Finkenberg too, but it is far away from Italy (we start from Rome).

The Zillertal seems to have more fascinating places, but I can only speak from what I see on the internet.

Are you interested in agriturismi for your kid? Perhaps check to see if you can book excellent family friendly lodging and then let this help guide your decision.

I have not been to zillertal, but Stubai. The latter is ok, though nothing worth to return to.

You might consider the Pustertal in Südtirol as an alternative. It's a little closer. We stayed for a week in Sesto/Sexten in mid June a few years ago and had a great trip. Gschnitztal might work too, it is a quiet lonely valley. off the Brenner pass (Wipptal).
