For our trip in December for Salzburg Krampus festivities, we are looking at the above two hotels. I have never stayed in Salzburg, so I have no frame of reference. Can I please get comments on which would better suit our purpose, or which may be nicer?

We had.a good stay at the W Taube a few years ago. Arriving by train it was an easy trip by tram or bus to the Mozartbridge stop and then a quick walk to the hotel. Its location was excellent with shops, restaurants and major sights nearby. They provided a nice breakfast . The room was pleasant enough…nothing posh. However, they went above and beyond helping us line up lodging in our next stop spending over a hour on the phone calling some colleagues and various hotels which enshrined this place in my memory as among the best ever. I know nothing of the festival you refer to or how it relates to either hotel. Our trip was in summer and we took great advantage of the Salzburg City Pass. Safe travels
