St. Wolfgang

How far is st. Wolfgang from salzburg?
I will not have a car so depend on either bus or train.
What are some experiences there to do?

St. Wolfgang is not accessible by train, but it is by bus. There are about four 1½ hr bus connections a day from Salzburg Hb to St. Wolfgang with a 9 min change in Strobl. There is also a little longer connection by bus to St. Gilgen and a boat from there to St. Wolfgang.

Use the Austrian Rail website, www.oebb.at.

According the the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund website, the bus to St. Wolfgang costs 9,20€.

I can confirm the above as I have done this myself several times. You buy your ticket from the driver.

Your "experiences" will greatly depend on the time of year you visit. Overall, St. Wolfgang is a charming village on Wolfgangsee with access to several nearby peaks for hiking, a lake for exploring and other attractions.
