St. Stephen's Cathedral morning or aftertnoon

St. Stephen's Cathedral is only open for 2.5 hours in the morning, but 3.5 hours in the afternoon.
I would prefer the morning, but if will be rushed and miss things I will adjust my schedule.
I want to do everything, except the South tower as I can't do the stairs.
Also I plan to be there before the doors open.
Any thoughts?

These time restrictions apply only to the (self)guided tours where you have access to parts of the church which are not generally open.

The cathedral is open from 7am to 10pm every day.

I'm not sure about the times. I was there last week and I went just when it opened. You can actually get lots of pictures before the opening - you can go inside but the main part is behind a wrought iron gate. It wasn't crowded. I didn't take any tours, but I did pay the 6e required to walk all over the first floor. It amazed me how many people did not - they were restricted to the aisle going down the left side. I had access to the whole space and was able to walk right up to the altar and investigate all the side chapels and almost nobody was walking around with me. sue
