Hi! We are traveling by public transportation to St Gilgen (2 nights) then Berchtesgaden (2 nights) then Zell am See (3 nights) in October. All three of our places give us (different) mobility passes. I’m a little confused if there are any parts of the journey I will need to pay for. And have also heard into and out of Berchtesgaden should be reserved. But if part of route covered is it possible to reserve all of route? Any insight is appreciated. And just in case anyone asks. I will not be changing this route as have our places to stay and various hikes already lined up. Thank you all in advance!!!
Hi Amy,
I can’t help but wanted to say we’ve been to all these in October, many times in fact. You’ll love every location!
Paul. Ty!!! Any favorite hikes or tips? I can’t wait!
And Ty m.crew!!!
My favorite near Berchtesgaden is Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden. Very short bus ride from Berchtesgaden. Walk along the stream through the village and see St. Sebastian church.

In Zell am See we spent two hours cruising the lake by renting our own electric boat. Just head to the lakeside promenade.
Thank you!
