Spanish Riding School in Vienna

We will be in Vienna for 3 days in June, 2019. It appears there are a variety of options for experiencing the Spanish Riding School. Among them is a show titled "Tribute to Vienna" featuring the famous stallions and the Vienna Boys' Choir. The only performance in June seems to be on the 21st at 7pm. I'm looking for input as to whether it is better to get tickets to this event ASAP versus waiting, or opting for a morning practice, practice and afternoon tour, other (it appears that there are no "Performances "on the days of the week when we will be in Vienna - which are Wednesday, June 19, leaving Saturday, June 22) , What is the best site/source for tickets? We are staying at the recommended Hotel Pension Suzanne, just a few blocks from the Spanish riding school. Any and all responses are appreciated. Thank you in advance.,

You will be in Vienna on a major long holiday weekend, thus the lack of performances. Thursday, June 20 is Corpus Christi and shops will be closed, as will schools. Many families travel during this 4 day weekend.

SRS:

  1. The Disney movie, Miracle of the White Stallions, is fun to watch before heading to Vienna. We found it on DVD at our public library.
  2. If you order on line you will receive a voucher that must be exchanged for actual tickets at the nearby Hofburg visitor's center. Allow time to find that office and perhaps stand in line for a while before the scheduled start of the show.

We will be in Vienna in mid September 2019. We are also planning our Sunday morning. We hope to see the Vienna Boys Choir at the Hofmusikkapelle, followed by the Spanish Riding School performance, and then lunch at the Palmenhaus. Would we have time after the choir to exchange our SRS vouchers for tickets prior to the performance; or could we exchange our vouchers the day before? As well, for what time should we make reservations for lunch; would 1pm be appropriate.

My wife recalls the performance as being about 90 minutes. (Seemed more like 4 hours to me, but we have different levels of enthusiasm for dancing horses.) I don't know the timing of the Choir concert, but I'd be more comfortable having the actual tickets in hand the day before if your schedule permits. If the Performance starts at 11:00, I'd make lunch reservations at Palmenhaus no earlier than 1:00 (but it's a short walk as I recall.) We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Palmenhaus. Sounds like a nicely organized Sunday morning.
