We are thinking of traveling south of Graz to take in the wine country. Would like some suggestions on how much time to allow and recommendations on where to stay and/or what to do. I know, drink wine right? But are there tours or tastings that we could do? Also restaurant recommendations are welcome.
Thanks,
Dan
Not South, more East to North East.

I might know a guide who might know a mom and pop vineyard / winery in the area.
Mr. É, you are directing the poor guy into Hungary, where he does not want go to.
The area south and south east of Graz is one of the loveliest areas in Austria, therefore addressed sometimes as the Austrian Tuscany.

wmt1, I am expanding his horizons and illustrating that wine knows no borders. And in fact, providing the only answer to his question, so far. Same region, same topography, a lot of the sane wines, just happens to be opposite side of a 1921 change in the political border.
Oh, and Maribor I hear is worth the visit. Again in the same region, if not country, asked about.
