Sound of Music tour in Salzburg

Hi

We are reaching Salzburg on 8th afternoon and were thinking of doing the Sound of Music tour. Is it possible to do it on our own, now that there is a Salzburg mobility ticket introduced from 1st May. Will it allow us to go to all the SOM places by public transport and save the cost. I don't think thats possible, but would like to just confirm it

Further, we are planning to go to Hallstatt on 9th by taking a bus to Bad Ischl, then onwards to Hallstatt by train and crossing over to Hallstatt by ferry. On return we intend to take the same journey and get off at St Gilgen or some other place to just enjoy the place. Is this is a good idea or any other suggestion?
I am also not able to get the ticket prices for a through journey because I can't figure out which zones will be covered till Hallstatt
I saw somewhere it is 32.40 Euros for one ticket

Taking a tour would save you a lot of time as not all of the places are right in Salzburg.

We did the SOM tour with Bob's Special Tours and had a great time! They use small vans, so only about 8 people max and our guide was excellent. If you can swing it, I highly recommend this.

Take a close look at what the different tours cover. I went on a big-bus tour, and it went to the church in Mondsee where the wedding was filmed. My sister did a walking tour that went to some places I didn't get to. Maybe the van tour suggested by the other poster hits all the sites? Or more? Anyway, my point is that there isn't one SOM tour but several options.
P.S. I had zero regrets because the drive to Monsee was incredibly beautiful.

We went with Bob’s Big Tours because we didn’t want to be on a big bus with a lot of people. It was so much fun and it took us out of town to see the wedding church in Mondsee. It’s a great way to see the Austrian countryside if you won’t have an opportunity to do so otherwise. If you just want to stay in town you could probably manage most of those sites on your own.

The Salzburg Guest Mobility Ticket covers not only the City of Salzburg but the whole State of Salzburg. This includes the bus line 150 from Salzburg main train station to Bad Ischl. For the short train ride from Bad Ischl to Hallstatt you need to buy a ticket (from a ticket vending machine or online in advance) because Hallstatt is outside of the State of Salzburg.
