In case you’re in Vienna on June 20 and are living under a rock, then kindly be alerted to the fabulous free concert in the evening at Schonbrunn out on by none other than the world famous Vienna Philharmonic. Get there early to claim your space.
And , second best choice , keep an eye peeled in the States on PBS . The program is often broadcast as part of the " Great Performances " series , Not to be missed .
"Rhapsody in Blue", "Stars and Stripes Forever", and the "Star-Spangled Banner March" on the program? Something I would expect the Vienna Philharmonic to perform on a tour in the US. Well, it should give the ex-pats a thrill, and the venue is spectacular.
Not to mention the Finale of the Dvorak " New World "
Wow! How fortunate for those who will be there on June 20th. Just read a RS article about High Mass at St. Augustine Church. He mentioned the choir and orchestra. Can anyone report if they've attended? Recommend? So far I haven't seen any Philharmonic Concerts scheduled in September.
Yes, I’ve attended mass at the Augustinerkirche multiple times. I recommend it.
The Vienna Philharmonic schedule can be found here - https://www.wienerphilharmoniker.at/concerts/list
Thanks Emily! We will add Augustinerkirche to our calendar. Looking forward to it.
