What’s the winter been like so far? How’s the skiing? Hope to come mid March and ski in the Vorarlberg area. Will fly to Zurich, fast train to Bregenz then rent a car. Want to ski Mittelberg area, then go to Fussen to see the castle then back to Lech area. Plan to stay in Austria about a week then turn the rental car in and train to Switzerland ski areas of Wengen and Saas Fee for about another week. Any thoughts or recommendations? Like to ski the groomed trails and enjoy the mountain huts for lunch.
Thanks for any help.
Well, it’s been super warm and there’s no snow. It’s been making world headlines. Very bad season so far.
Pictures worth a thousand words.

Have you bought your plane tickets? If not, you might consider heading to Lake Tahoe. They just got 5 feet of snow, and there are several more feet coming in the next few days.
no snow in the Berner Oberland either, except that which comes out of machines for the competition
WOW! What a bummer. Luckily we were just in the planning stage but was pretty excited about it.
Hope winter hits soon. We’ve got more snow here in West Virginia that over there.
Thanks for the heads up.
We just returned from Innsbruck, no snow in town and every local we encountered complained of lack of snow. We skied across the border in the Dolomites ( Dolomiti Superski) which has a little more snow. The scenery in the Dolomites are amazing and runs are pristine! Also staying in the refugios at the top of the mountain is a wonderful experience!
Best of luck with your European ski trip!
In the Arlberg area there is more than enough snow.
