Hi . I am looking for recommendations for sidetrips when we travel from Munich to Lech in mid Dec. We are traveling by car and would stop on the way and not spend the night. One stop on the way there and another on the way back. I am considering Neuschwanstein castle and Partnach Gorge. Also if anyone has any recommendations for private transport I would welcome those as well. I have been looking at Daytrip. Thanks

Just be aware the road between Lech and Warth may be closed in winter. Also the Fernpass can get backed up especially on the weekends.
Add... It will be dark at 16:30. 21 December Winter Solstice. With clear weather Ehrwald, AT would be a nice stop. A walk across the golf course or the Bergbahn to Ehrwalder Alm. Several hours. The foot of the Zugspitze. You might just want to just get to Lech, relax and have a good dinner. If you take the longer route a stop at the Bodensee/Lake Constance. Lech is small and just nice to Walk around. Rüfikopf Seilbahn, Lift to and a coffee at Hotel Mohnenfluh etc. Ski busses should be running too, giving you more options.
