Season to travel for extended stay: Styria area Austria

We are contemplating an extended stay, something like 6-8 weeks, in the Styria area of Austria sometime in 2023. I had been thinking June-July, but I’ve read the can be a lot of precipitation in May/June/July. I think ‘a lot’ is relative (we live in the Seattle area), but also wondering if fall - Sept/ Oct would be better? Do things start shutting down in October?

Thanks for insights,
Courtney

Austrian Grand Prix July 10, guess where? So don't try anything a week or two before.

Styria (or Steiermark as it is called in Austria) is a pretty large area, with high Alpine areas to the west and rolling hills with a temperate climate in the south. It would be helpful to understand what part of Styria you are considering.

To be honest, I've lived in Austria for 14+ years and I wouldn't say there is a "rainy" period, at least not in a way that it would interrupt an extended stay. For me, it would be more about the temperatures, particularly as many places to not have AC in this part of the world.

Hi @Emily
We are thinking of Kapfenstein and area. Would also like to visit Slovenia, well have to see how border crossings work next year.
