Salzburg / Wolfgangsee / St. Gilgen - Hiking, Cycling, Horse Riding?

Hello fellow hikers, bikers, and horseback riders:
During our summer travels, we love being outside exploring the rural setting.
In June, my family (mom, dad and horse-loving 13-year old girl) will be staying at a bungalow at Landhotel Berau on Wolfgangsee for five nights / six days.

1. HORSEBACK RIDING: Has anyone booked an equine trekking day trip (we are experienced riders) in this region? My web searches for horseback riding keep pulling up advertised riding options for younger children to take lessons in a ring.
2. HIKING: What are your favorite hikes in this area (we day hike the Appalachian Trail in Virginia).
3. CYCLING: What are your favorite bike routes (we are more tour bike riders than mountain).
I welcome your experience with hidden gems and quaint local attractions.

Thank you.
Kim

My 18 year old daughter and I did the Frauline Maria bike tour in Salzburg and LOVED it, fun to see the Sound of Music sights as well as the gorgeous scenery! Look it up on Tripadvisor...

I suggest you repost your question on Trip Advisor as there are several experts on this area on the Austria forum. At least one is also an equestrian.

I have been to that area with kids and can tell you the hiking is pretty obvious - take a cable car to the top and walk or walk around the lake.

Why don't you try asking Landhotel Berau if they know of any options for horseback riding. As a previous hotel manager, I'd bend over backward to help a guest find what they were looking for and that has been my experience in many of the places I've stayed in Austria and Germany.
