Hi,
I would be travelling to Hallstatt from Salzburg for 2 nights. Since, my stay is on Obertraun (5 mins walk from train station), please let me know how to reach hotel.
I would want to go to hotel directly from Salzburg and keep the luggage first before proceeding for Hallstatt sightseeing. Should I take a train or a Bus and which one. Also, share what are the sightseeing options in Obertraun, if any

The train from Bad Ischl stops at the Hallstatt Bahnhof, across the lake from Hallstatt, before proceeding on to Obertraun. From Obertraun station, there are frequent buses around the bottom end of the lake to Lahn, at the base of the funicular that goes up to the salt mine. From there it is an easy ½ km walk along the lake to the center of Hallstatt. Alternatively, you could take the train from Obertraun Bahnhof back to the Hallstatt Bahnhof and take the boat across the lake to the center of Hallstatt.
A short distance from the Bahnhof in Obertraun is a series of gondolas that go up to the Dachstein ice caves.
