Salzburg Store that carries Kitchen electronics?

I am here now and I have entered "Salzburg Dept store" into Google search and it comes up with clothing stores. Is there anyone local who knows of a store that I can buy kitchen electronics such as electric mixers and fondue pots and kitchen hand tools? I have asked the front desk and they sent me to Spar and a Billa Corso. Ha! Ha! I knew neither was correct so I assume they don't understand what I am asking. Thank you in advance.

There is an outlet store called Designer Outlet Salzburg that looks to have at least one store with small kitchen appliances. It is located at Kasernenstraße 1, Wals-Himmelreich 5073. Inside is a store called WMF that looks like they carry small kitchen electrical items.

Discover WMF:
German brand WMF was founded in 1853. WMF develops premium products that make every moment special; from preparing and cooking to eating and drinking. They do this by pursuing perfection, from the first idea to the finished product. WMF's range is very versatile; pans and frying pans, kitchen knives, cutlery, kitchen utensils and various carafes as well as small electrical appliances such as kettles, grills, blenders, etc.

There is also a store in that same mall called Tefal that may have some kitchen appliances there as well.Plus there is an IKEA on the outside of town, and a few department stores that probably carry them. They have some kitchen items there. By the way, Spar does have some small appliances.

Are you planning on taking them home to the US?
I doubt kitchen electronics are dual-voltage.

Geeee I just sort of assumed the OP would know the stuff wont work in the US. Not just the voltage, the frequency. The clocks wont keep time and the mixer will run either too fast or too slow, dont remember which, even if you do asjust for the voltage. I think faster. Maybe 20% faster. (just a WAG because we use variable frequency drives to change the speed of commercial motors).

MediaMarkt

That's where I would go. In fact I have gone. I got an electric toothbrush, an alarm clock and a mouse there a few years ago. Love that alarm clock.

I make a point of visiting MediaMarkt on very journey to Germany, Italy or Austria.

My bean to cup coffee machine is from MediaMarkt. So are two vacuum cleaners and most of my computer gear...

Saturn is the same as MediaMarkt. Ammerer is another major shop. Also Ikea sells small appliances, and so does OBI.

But what you probably want is WMF. https://www.wmf.com/de/de/

Mardee,
Thank you! I will try them. That sounds like the exact place I need.

As for all concerned with dual voltage, I assume the person asking for it will be able to manage. He is an electrical engineer who is familiar with dual voltage items as he has some his wife has brought to him on occasion from overseas from multiple countries.
Thank you for your help!

WMF is an interesting business. They have been going for a long time, nearly 200 years.

For a long time they were known by the long name Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (loosely translated as metalwork wares factory of Württemberg), now known as WMF. They are well known for lovely decorative and functional household pieces, fairly popular at auctions, made of pewter or sometimes silver plate. Now they produce not only that but electrical small appliances for commercial kitchens and general home kitchen pieces.

A good introduction to them is at their English language webpage - this page speaks of their history - https://aboutwmf.com/en/history/

As odd as it seems, shopping in Europe or just going to European stores has been among the more interesting things on my trips. The slow burn into getting used to the differences and the similarities is one of the intangibles that made relocating here for a few years easier than expected.

For an American who enjoys Home Depot they might want to visit an OBI. Same thing. Same colors (orange), same general layout .... doubt same owner. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/70/Favoriten_%28Wien%29_-_OBI_Baumarkt.JPG/1200px-Favoriten_%28Wien%29_-_OBI_Baumarkt.JPG The big difference, in my city, is the OBI's are two stories tall with these massively long inclined moving sidewalks to get you between levels. https://youtu.be/S4ZYAjVyQ0c?si=e8UNNS6gW4gcdlR_

Media Markt on the other hand has no equivalent in the US: https://youtu.be/W1-MveGmT0Y?si=qMgbV46qMXdQAkPL Maybe sort of a little “Best Buy” but still blows Best Buy away.

A few years ago, I happened to pass by the following store.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/XwgeAUQYfUYJSyhu9
It's a small shop crammed full of kitchen utensils. However, I can't remember if they also sell electrical appliances.
I bought a potato ricer there.

Since all the big electronics stores are in shopping centers on the outskirts of town, it makes sense to stop by here. This kind of store is always a delight.

Not necessarily true. In the past two months I've been to MediaMarkt stores in the heart of Vienna and Berlin.

In Salzburg there is one within the loop road around the city but thats about 2.5 miles away from the tourist old town. In. Budapest there is one next to the train station in the center of town.
