Salzburg-Munich Train Status?

I've been trying to follow the status of trains in and out of Germany. Most posts are now several days old. While looking at tickets on Deutsche Bahn there are no notices of interruptions that I can see. Are things returning to normal? Is there somewhere to look for offical status? I head out on Tuesday and would like to know if I should look at an alternate plan for my day trip from Munich. Thanks so much!

Where are you looking? Use the German Rail website, and I think you will see interruptions. Most express trains between Munich and Salzburg are cancelled. There are a few ECs running, but not ICs or RJs. The only thing that seems to be running are Meridian regional trains between Munich and Freilassing, Germany, across the border in Germany from Salzburg. Getting from Salzburg to Freilassing is possible, but not easy.

From the OeBB website: from Oct. 8th, 2015 at 5am, the local service between Salzburg and Freilassing has resumed. At peak times, from 5am to 9am there is a train every hour (leaving from Salzburg a few minutes after the round hour), from 11am to 11pm every two hours. Long distance services to Munich are still suspended.

In the page with traffic warnings on the same OeBB website, it is stated that Salzburg-Freilassing trains do no stop at the few intermediate stations. Some long distance trains may be working, but being subject to immigration controls they may get long delays (in the order of a few hours). Korridorzuge - trains to Innsbruck that cross German territory without stopping - are working regularly.

Thanks! I was Googling for train status and didn't hit on anything official. I was assuming that if DB was willing to sell me a train ticket that that train was actually running! I'm sure I'd love to see Salzburg some day but I don't think I'm willing to work that hard this trip!
