Salzburg-Linz Regional Train

Hello helpful RS folks,

Does anyone know if there is a regional train that runs Salzburg-Linz? My travel date is: June 25 and I'm hoping to use the Einfach-Raus-Ticket as my partner and I will be doing further travel on this date (we have specific plans that require two train trips in one day).

My second question is related to discounted OEBB tickets. It appears that SparSchiene tickets are already sold out on June 25 for our trips, although I was under the impression that we could only buy tickets 3 months in advance (which will be on March 26, which is 3 days away) - was I mistaken on this? Perhaps I was confusing it with the DeutscheBahn site?

Thank you so much in advance!
Cheers,
Ashlee

Thank you so much Edgar! I haven't tried using the "Scotty" function before and it was very helpful! I was only using the online ticketing purchasing function, which does not have as many search options. Unfortunately, they only have later trains (after 10:30) for use with the Einfach-Raus-Ticket, but at least I am now able to confirm that!

Cheers,
Ashlee

The regional train required for use of the Einfach-Raus-Ticket take about an hour longer to Linz than do the OeBB express trains (IC/RJ) or the Westbahn trains. The Einfach-Raus-Ticket is 36€ for both of you. IC/RJ tickets are 54€ (27€ each). Is it worth spending an hour longer getting there to save 18€? Take your pick.

And Westbahn's fare is 25€ (12,50€ ea). Westbahn trains leave the Salzburg Hbf hourly, at 8 minute before the hour.

Thank you, Lee! Yes, I looked into the Westbahn option as well, I was just hoping that we could use regional trains all day to take advantage of the Einfach-Raus-Ticket (since we have further travel on regional trains later the same day). Thank you for confirming my research!
