salzburg half a day please hep

Hello wonderful people. So I arrive from zurich to salzburg at around 2 pm. and I only have until the rest of the day. What would you suggest are the absolute must sees. I leave for vienna the next day via hallstatt.
Thank you as always for the immense help.

I did Salzburg as a long day trip with 7 hours to fill and arrived via train and found that taking a Hop on Hop off bus from the station served me well--it took me to all the outlying sites and I spent time at Mirabell and Hellbrunn before getting off and spending the rest of my time in the charming old town where I had lunch, toured Mozart's Gebursthaus and checked out a crafts fair along the river before heading back to the station by 5 pm. Depending on what you want to see it can be a good option as there's a lot that's worth seeing that's not right there in town, or you might just want to spend all your time in old town.

I would probably just walk around Old Town, going in shops, enjoying a coffee, and visiting sights in that area. But then I don't like spending time rushing from one place to the next.

Besides the places mentioned, I would take the funicular up to Fortress Hohensalzburg OR the Monchsberg Lift for a nice view of the city.

I assume you are coming in by train. It's an easy 1 mile walk from the station to the old town, and if you go down Rainierstrasse, you will go right by Mirabell Palace (Do-Re-Mi steps, Pegasus statue) on the way. I'd go up the incline to the fortress.
