Interested in buying a Salzburg card for the aerial tram, but the online system is asking me for a use date. I don't want to plug in the date on the website and have the card be locked to use that date. I thought that the card didn't start to run until it was activated. Am thinking it's better to not order the card online.
I'd rather not buy the online phone pass because I've read the buses don't have the option to register the first use of the card to start the 24 hour tolling. The first use of the card for me will be the bus; I'm reading that doing so will require reloading the card onto the phone after the first use on the bus, which I assume means I would need an internet connection. I prefer to not turn data on, and incur the cellular roaming charges.
It seems like the best way to purchase the card is to just buy the physical card once in Austria. Am staying at an apartment and won't be near the locations (museums etc) that I read online where one can buy a Salzburg card. I have read they can be purchased at the airport, does anyone know where in the Salzburg airport?
Also, is there an internet listing of all places that the card can be purchased? The website that sells the card isn't very specific with respect to locations. I just don't want to waste valuable vacation time on my trip running around trying to find a place to buy the card.
