Salzburg Card

We are looking into buying the Salzburg card for 1 day. I've found that both the Mozart birthplace and the Hohensalzburg Fortress accepts the card. Do you get to cut the queue at either venue? Any tips appreciated. We've booked a full day Sound of Music/Hallstatt tour for another day so would like to make good use of the 1 1/2 days left that we have free. Thank you

You may want to review the Salzburg card inclusions. Sorry but I don’t recall how the Hoh’Fortress worked. We visited some years ago and took the multi day pass because it included so many great options at a good value. We visited Untersberg on the way out and Hellbeunn on the way back into town..transportation was included back then.we visited several sights including a fun brewery tour and a boat ride along with Mozart spots. If I understand you have one and one half days remaining you shouldn’t have any trouble filling the time with included attractions. Safe travels.

I did the multiday pass and I believe the pass lets you use the funicular to go up to the fortress. I didn't get to cut in line but I went early and was able to walk right in. I recommend being there when the fortress opens. I think the best advantage is that you get to use the buses for free, which helps if you are staying outside the old town. I was also able to attend a musical concert at the Mirabell chapel. I'm not a big classical music fan and didn't want to pay big prices for the concerts at the fortress. I found the 3 instrument concert of Mozart and other composers at the small chapel more intimate and serene than a large concert. And it was funny how the Bishop painted himself into all the decor in the chapel.
