Salzburg and Innsbruck restaurant and day trip suggestions

We are traveling with a group and will be in Salzburg for a few days and doing the Sound of Music tour etc. We have a free day on 12/29. Does anyone have a recommendation for a day trip that is still running at this time and a suggestion for a restaurant in the central area of the city. We are staying at the NH Salzburg.

Also, we will be in Innsbruck, going to the Christmas markets etc staying at the Hotel Cafe Central. Any recommendations for dinner? We will be going to the Christmas market and children's parade as well as the Nordkette. Any other not to miss suggestions? Thank you in advance for your suggestions :)

How about a day trip to Hallstatt? We loved it…………

While you're in Innsbruck, check out Cafe Mundig in the old town. It's a charming spot for a bite, and the pastries are out of this world. The owner is super sweet as well. Highly recommend.

We drove to Hallstatt but there is a train that can take you there and a boat to transport you across the beautiful lake to the town….no walking tour, just visited the town square and walked around the neighborhood surrounding the lake……gorgeous place.

We enjoyed the restaurants in the Linzergasse area of Salzburg. We ate twice at the Gablerbrau on Linzergasse. The ambiance, service and food were great. We also ate outside at Timeless near there which had great food and large portions. For a more formal dinner we loved the Polo Lounge at Hotel Bristol.
