We will be staying in Salzburg and going to Berchesgarten to see the Eagles Nest. Does anyone have a preference of salt mine/cave-Salzburg or Berhesgarten? Sorry for the spelling. It is early.

This is really subjective. There are so many places to see within an hour of Salzburg. I think you could get 20 different suggestions other than the two you have listed. I have been in that area several times and have no desire to see either of these. But I know folks that have and enjoyed them immensely. Enjoy your travels.

I would go to the salt mine that best fits your schedule. I have been to one near Salzburg and one near Berchtesgarden many years ago. Both were very similar so I don't you would go wrong with either one.
