Does anyone know what hotel is used by RS's tour in Vienna? I am in the waiting list for that tour but haven't heard from the office yet. Instead I am making my own tour after the Best of Easter Europe and would like to know their accommodations in Vienna and maybe stay there also. I will be going to Venice, Milan, Salzburg, Vienna.

I think multiple hotels are used. If you call the RS office, they should be able to give you this information. We were on the Best of Berlin, Prague & Vienna tour last June and we stayed at the Hotel am Stephansplatz. The location was great--we had a partial view of St. Stephen's Cathedral from our room. Our room was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

I agree that different hotels are likely used. I stayed in Hotel Savoy on the GAS tour last Fall. The tour hotels sometimes fill as the company books rooms well ahead.

Rick's guidebook listings would give you a better selection of "vetted" accommodations to compare. Hotel am Stephansplatz is in the highest price category, unless you find it with a seasonal discount.
