Restaurants/Cafés Near Hilton Vienna?

My boyfriend and I are staying our first two nights of our trip at the Hilton Vienna (beside the Stadtpark). Any recommendations for good, inexpensive restaurants or cafés nearby would be appreciated. Thanks!

You might try a Google Map search for Restaurants near Hilton Vienna, Am Stadtpark, Vienna, Austria. You will have more choices on the other side of the park, however, in the city center. A couple of traditional choices there are Figlmueller and Zu den Drei Hacken./

Head down to the Ringstrasse from your hotel, cross and follow it to the left until you hit Weihburggasse take it going toward city center. At Franziskanerplatz you will find The Kleines Cafe or a little bit further along on Weihburggasse 17 you will find Gasthaus Poschl. Kleines is cheap and good. Poschl has great traditional dishes at pretty reasonable prices.

My suggestion - branch out a bit and turn right out of your hotel (instead of left where all the tourists will head) and explore a bit of the 3rd District (which happens to be my neighborhood).

A few highlights within walking distance of your hotel -

Rochusmarkt - Kind of like a mini-Naschmarkt completely devoid of tourists. Arrigo is a nice little wine bar there; also look for Trzesniewski, an institution with open face sandwiches. Rochus Cafe is just next to the market and a cool place to hang. Also look for Cafe Limbeck on Sechkrugelgasse 2, just off the market.

Joseph Bakery and Bistro at Landstrasse Hauptstrasse 4 (walk right out of your hotel and in the next block). New branch of an excellent Viennese cafe, but this one serves good food, not just bread. Super popular with hip locals.

The "Food Court" at Wien Mitte Mall - I say "" because this is not an American food court. This has actual restaurants - and good ones. Ra'mien is one of the most popular Asian restaurants in town and they specialize in noodle soups; Henry's is a gourmet buffet chain with locations around Europe.

Mahlzeit!

I will be staying at this hotel in September and have done some research. The Cafe Pruckel is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. It isn't fancy, but is favored by the locals for authentic Austrian cuisine. While I haven't been there yet, the reviews seemed good enough to give it a try.

The address is Stubenring 24, Vienna A-1010.

I go to Café Prückel frequently and can confirm that it is a nice café with an art deco interior. The cakes are quite good and you will find a mix of locals and tourists. I ate there last Sunday and had a nice asparagus dish; have had other good meals there as well. Staff are brusk, but professional - typical of a Viennese café.
