Rail Disruptions West of Innsbruck- Looking of advice on a route to St. Moritz

We are staying in Seefeld, Austria and need to travel west to St. Moritz in Switzerland tomorrow morning. There are some travel disruptions on the route we intended to take, so we are hoping for some advice on which of the alternatives would be better. We spoke to the OBB rail office here and they weren’t able to give us guidance on how the choice of route through Austria would affect the route once we reach Switzerland. We have a Swiss travel pass.

Option 1: Rail replacement bus to Innsbruck, train to Feldkirch, Austria, then rail replacement bus to Sargans, and onward to St. Moritz via SBB (fewest changes but longer journey)

Option 2: Rail replacement bus to Innsbruck, train to Landeck-Zams, Austria, then a series of two busses (Landeck Zams to Pfunds, then Pfunds to Scoul Tarasp), then join the SBB rail network in Scoul Tarasp (looks like a shorter journey but with more busses and changes)

Does anyone know which of these would be the better route to take? Also, how would Swiss Pass validity play into it? Based on the SBB validity map, it looks like the two busses from Landeck-Zams to Scoul Tarasp would be included on the pass, even though they are in Austria. However, the rail agent in Seefeld thought that might not be true…

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Personally, I would choose Option 1 for the fewest changes—-less likelihood of a missed connection and less hassle. Those are my “default settings”, even if it takes longer.

Your Swiss Pass will take over from Sargans for sure. I would not expect it to cover the Feldkirch to Sargans replacement bus if that is provided by OeBB. There is a Swiss Postbus on that route but it may not be an option in terms of scheduling.

I would go to Landeck - Zams, and take the bus from there. Those busses are indeed covered by the Swiss Travel Pass, so you only need a ticket to Landeck. (Get a refund if you have a different ticket).

Thank you both for your advice. With the tie breaker being that the second option (via Landeck Zams) turned out to be about half the price with our Swiss Travel Passes, we went with that route. The busses were running behind due to road construction and we thought we were going to miss one of the connections, but they had the transport system timed so it waited until the delayed bus arrived. All in all, it went smoothly, and St. Moritz is beautiful!
