My 17 year old daughter and I plan to fly into Munich on Easter Sunday and fly out the following Thursday. Yes, that leaves us 3 1/2 days. It's OK, we do this alot. I've been to Germany/Austria before, but realize that her interests don't match mine. We're renting a car. I'll be 6 weeks postop, so I'm looking for things that don't require tons of walking or standing, but I'm pretty tough:) We decided against Neuschwanstein since I've read that the 15 minute tour isn't really worth the effort and the bridge may not be accessible at this time of the year. I know the weather will be cold. The last time I was there was during October, it was fabulous weather, but alas, we have to work within school holidays. Our plans so far...
Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial in Germany - Allow 2.5 to 4 hours
SOM tour - She is performing in the Sound of Music at her school in April, so we'll definitely do the SOM tour. Any thoughts on using Panorama? 4 hours
Salzburg Cathedral/Walking around Salzburg
Shopping in Salzburg - can't do until Tuesday or Wednesday since most stores will be closed on Sunday and Monday
Bertchesgaden/Lake Kongisee? Not sure if this time of year would be the most optimum time to see this?
She is definitely interested in WW 2 history and we always love to see museums or manor houses/castles. She prefers not to be in the car too long, so I've ruled out Rothenburg and Vienna. Would LOVE to hear some suggestions! Also places to stay? Probably base ourselves in Salzburg.
