Question About Tickets for St. Stephen’s Cathedral Visit

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral (St. Stephan) soon, and I’m a bit confused about the ticket situation. The official site says:
“All tickets can currently only be purchased in St. Stephen’s Cathedral against cash payment. No card payment is possible!”

However, I also see that you can buy an All-Inclusive Ticket online for 25 euros per person, which includes St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Dom Museum.

Am I understanding this correctly?
• If you just want to visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral, you have to buy the ticket in person and with cash?
• But if you want to visit St. Stephen’s plus the Dom Museum, then you can buy the All-Inclusive Ticket online?

Thanks for any clarification — just want to make sure I plan it right.

Your understanding is correct. I was there a few weeks ago and purchased a ticket on site with cash to see the cathedral. If you'd like the all-inclusive ticket, you can purchase that on-line.

Have a great trip!

Im seeing description for the all inclusive tour of St Stephens but not any place to purchase in advance. It just says to purchase go to "more information" but there is no "more information" link. Any suggestions?

To be clear. The cathedral is free. You can enter and explore nearly the entire worship space. You have to pay to up the North Tower by elevator or to climb many steps to reach the South Tower (not necessary to both, not necessary to do even one of these). You can also pay to see the catacombs separately. There is also a cathedral museum across the street and the possibility of using an audioguide for a fee. Unless you are obsessed with this cathedral, then I would think that the free entry, north tower elevator and possibly the catacombs would be more than enough to see.
