Prague, Vienna and Budapest Help

I am having some trouble trying to prepare to navigate around Vienna. I am travelling from Prague to Vienna using the Eurocity rail till Praterstern station. Can anybody assist on how to go to Kaertner Strasse 18 from here ? I figured the cab route but the train route is complex.

Any help will be appreciated.

Regards
Prerana

Eurocity rail - what this means is that the type of train you are on is a Eurocity train, as opposed to a Railjet train. The trains are operated by OeBB (Austrian National Rail Carrier) or Czech Railways. Is there a reason why you have chosen a routing with one change as opposed to the faster Railjet service which is an hour faster?

From Praterstern, you will take the U1 subway line in the direction of Reumannplatz to Stephanzplatz and walk from there. It is three stops on the U1 line. It is not complex - actually very straightforward.

Take the U1 line - direction Reumannplatz - from Praterstern to Stephansplatz. Exit the station walk up Singerstrasse toward the McDonald sign but turn right on Kaertner before reaching McD's. Walk up Kaertner about 3 blocks

I can't tell whether that's the fastest route, but Google Maps shows a direct metro connection on the U-1 to the Stephansplatz stop.

Thanks Christi and tonfromleiden. :). Actually, this is my first Europe trip, and it feels like there is not enough time to plan.

Would anybody strongly recommend choosing first class over the usual ?Or the usual is good enough. I did read up some reviews but couldn't decide.

The Railjet trains are very nice - no need to pay the extra for 1st.

The Railjet train will take you to Vienna Hbf so you will still use the U1 line just in the other direction - towards Leopoldau - therest is the same - get off at Stephansplatz
