We returned from a trip from Austria and Northern Italy in midOctober, and today we received a souvenir from Austria (through Hertz) in the form of a traffic citation. The payment is due to Land Tirol in Lienz, I think. It appears that the only way to pay this fine is through a bank transfer. Unfortunately, our bank does not perform international electronic transfer, but they suggested Western Union. Has anyone had experience with receiving a traffic citation from Austria and then the payment process?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
I received a similar citation and used this website to process the international transfer. The fees were the lowest that I found. https://www.xe.com
The citation should include the banking info to deposit the funds to.
Can't Hertz pay the fine and charge your credit card?
another choice is WISE which allows you debit your account and feed Wise who then pay a bank transfer to pay the fine. Good exchange rate, you can feed the account many ways and use it for many things, reliable and inexpensive. I've never had a problem with them, and over the years here many others have been successful. Good luck!
Thank you very much for the suggestions. This will be helpful.
I would think Hertz would pay the fine and then charge us, but the email they sent made it clear that the client is responsible for the payment.
