Does anyone know of a car service, or a trusted guide that could drive passengers to Salzburg for the day? Looks like 1 and 1/2 hr. drive.
We took the train. Need to change once.
Real easy and quick.
Why not take the train?
A train will take 2h 30 and require a change. If Passau is where you disembark, I’m assuming you’ll have a good amount of luggage so a car service sounds like a good idea.
I guess it is a river cruise, the ship mooring for one day in Passau. I would take the train. You will not save a lot time going by car, not to talk about the costs. Search for shuttle services in Passau.
For example:

Thank you all for the input. With your help, I priced different avenues and times.
We're on a river cruise. Since we've used Rick's books and been on a 15-day Steves tour of Europe, we can get around.
Train is about 12e each way per person and takes slightly longer (45-1 hr.) than a car. total 7 people- 168e Can take early there and late back. If the boat docks at nearby train station, it's an easy walk. Otherwise, a 4 km cab or bus ride.
There is a car service that will take 7 people (Day Trip) for 540E round trip. Drop you off where u want. Also, a longer possible visit time.
The boat tour is $260 per person- 7 people $1820- includes lunch and about 5 hrs. in Salzburg.
Train appears to be best with early train there and late train back.
First time in Salzburg for us. Looking forward to visiting.
Any other Salzburg advice is welcome. Thanks again!
