Parking in Salzburg and Salzburg Card

In June my son and I will drive from Munich to Salzburg for the day. We want to take the Untersberg Cable car as well as tour the city. Is there a place to park near the cable car?

Suggestions for parking in Salzburg?

Finally, can we use the Salzburg for the cable car (both ways)?

Thanks!

At the Untersberg gondola there is a parking lot right there at the lower station where you get on. Very easy!
In Salzburg there are several very large lots. The biggest one we've used most and that has the most spaces is literally inside a mountain across the river in the newer part of town right...just walk across down a short pedestrian street, across a small bridge, and right into the old city. It's called the Linzer Gasse and I've linked you to the website if you click on this sentence. About a 5 - 10 minute walk straight into the old city...
The other one I've used is the Contipark Tiefgarage near the university just on the south edge of the old city. About a 5 minute walk into the old part of town. The only drawback of this garage is that the entrance is EXTREMELY narrow. If you have a larger vehicle I wouldn't attempt it. On the website for this garage, scroll down a bit and you'll see a whole list of other parking options down on the right-hand side.
I'll let someone else answer the question about the Salzburg pass and whether it works for the cable car both ways! I'm not really sure...
