Feedback please. Has anyone gone on this tour? I'll be in Salzburg for most of three days and want to add this to my itinerary (not interested in Sound of Music or salt mines). This tour works best for my timeframe and ease of touring. Any reason why I should not book the tour?

We did not take a tour, went there independently. Beautiful site and views. But the whole reason Hitler had it with an elevator that went up through middle of the mountain was his paranoia at being caught. Interesting from a historical perspective.

I'm not familiar with this tour, but I can recommend this area for the Beauty of it All. Nazi sites are History, and you don’t need then to enjoy the Obersalzberg. Bad weather that would limit the Panorama views would be my only concern. Hard to predict that when booking. I hope they stop somewhere local for a good Brotzeit too.

Summer 2014... I did a Panorama Eagle's Nest, salt mine, and Königssee tour (all in one day!). It was very rushed. And our guide was grumpy. He gave poor directions on what to do once we got into the Eagle's Nest building and then very harshly chided people for wandering away from where he wanted them to gather (just for the record, I was NOT a tour member who was chided, so not me being bitter 🙂). The more beer the guide drank, the more mellow he became.
May 2022... a friend and I went there by public transportation. It was a much more positive experience.
