Opera Tours sold out?

I arrive Wed in Vienna and I understood certain places are best booked in advance. However, when I checked the Opera House for tour times in English, the online options are sold out until the 14th. Do they have some available at the site or it is best to book ahead? For some sites, I was hoping to allow some flexibility on visiting. Thank you.

The website of the State Opera says:

Guided tours can only be purchased in our ticket store or 30 minutes before the respective tour on site at the box office (entrance at the corner of Opernring/Operngasse). Please note that only remaining places are available for purchase on site.

I would go there, check the times for English tours, and wait in line on time. Just across the street there is AÏDA, a well-known chain of pastry shops, where you can get a good coffee and cakes to shorten waiting time.

If you are willing to invest in a private guide a lot of them can get you in and you can avoid the larger crowd doing the group tours. We have used Adrienn Bartek-Rhomberg several times. Actually if you look under her tour descriptions she has a photo of my husband and I along with my parents from a trip we took in 2022. We have hired her several times since for a day. Worth every single penny. If she isn’t available she has many colleagues she can connect you with. It might be a bit late for a last minute booking but you never know!

Good info, islandfam2008. Thanks for sharing. Based on the photos on her site, it looks like she and Rick are tight.
