The new train timetable in Austria brings a number of changes (improvements) in the south of the country.
The Koralm Tunnel is opening, along with the new train route between Graz and Klagenfurt.
This means that Graz is now much better connected to the Austrian train network and all trains from Vienna to Carinthia (and on to Venice, Trieste, or Ljubljana) now run via Graz.
Furthermore, the travel time between Graz and Klagenfurt has been reduced to approx. 45 minutes. This makes it possible to take a day trip from Graz to go swimming or boating on Lake Wörthersee.
