Need ideas for good midday meal in Innsbruck during 2 hour layover

My wife and I will be traveling leisurely by train from Weilheim, Germany, (just south of Munich) to Venice Friday, Sept. 5. I have booked our trains so that we will arrive in Innsbruck at 11:23 and depart for Venice at 13:27. This should give us just about 2 hours to have a nice midday meal somewhere near the hauptbahnhof. I don't have Rick's Austria book but I can get it. In the meantime, I'd like suggestions for where we should go, within walking distance of the station. Thx.

I would be interested to see others' answers to this query - I was seriously underwhelmed by Innsbruck in general and the area around the station in particular.

We stay out of the valley when we go now, and very much enjoy the hospitality in Seefeld in Tirol, but the train is nearly 40 minutes each way so impractical in this case. Sorry.

I, also, was under-impressed by Innsbruck, although there are restaurants in the station.

If they are going from Weileim to Innsbruck, they are probably going via Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald, and Seefeld, so stopping in Seefeld would not be a sidetrip. There is a train on that line, between Garmisch-P and Innsbruck, at least every hour, so a two hour stop in Seefeld would not be out of the question, except they would only have 4 minutes for the change in Innsbruck. Certainly a one hour stop in Seefeld would be possible.

Just looked at the schedule on the Bahn website, and the train they are taking from Weilheim gets into Seefeld at 10:45. There is an S-Bahn from Seefeld to Innsbruck leaving Seefeld at 12:16 and getting into Innsbruck at 12:53. That would give them 1½ hour for lunch in Seefeld and half an hour for the change in Innsbruck.

I visited Seefeld in 2009 and took a picture of Bahnhofstrasse leading away from the station. It clearly shows a number of restaurants with outdoor seating in the first block.

Only problem with that is it is barely lunch time in Innsbruck, and even earlier up the hill. Seefeld is a lovely little place though.

It is about a 7 minute walk to Stiftskeller. That would be my choice.
