Music for Kids?

We'll be in Vienna from Sept 20-26 and Salzburg from Sept 26 - Oct 1. We have a 3-year-old who simply loves music and is beyond fascinated by live music. We've taken him to a few concerts specifically aimed at kids (not kid music, but short concerts so kids don't lose interest and it isn't a problem if they make a little extra noise) and house concerts here and he really enjoys them. I was wondering if any one knew of any musical offerings in Vienna or Salzburg that might be appropriate to take a child to? I'm open to any suggestions but would particularly love to get him to see something orchestral or classical.

I should also note that he is very good at sitting still for something like this and we would leave before we let him disturb any other audience members.

@Chris, I know, wrong town so this isn't going to help you necessarily but someone else may see it and find some use from it.

Pick a date then click. You would be looking for Baby Concerts, Sing Along with Baby, Playtime, Road to Symphonia and Busy with Music. The Opera also from time to time has children relevant productions.

The Vienna Opera offers Kinderoper (Children's Opera) on select dates. These performances are held in a special theater and the content is for children only. These tickets go fast, so get them as soon as you can (follow the links on this page):

You should also consider the Haus Der Musik which has interactive music exhibits for all ages. In addition, they offer tours and concerts for kids:

Beethoven's Gebursthaus has his opera with controllers that allow four people to move abstract electronic characters around the screen. It was sort of fun for my kids 7-15 but may be a little hard for a three year old to "get".

I want to second the suggestion of the Haus der Musik. I really enjoyed my visit and there were lots of kids who were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. There are a few here that will work with our itinerary ... very excited!
