Music concerts for kids?

Hello,
We will be in Vienna during the last weekend of November. We are excited to see the Christmas market! We would love to see some sort of musical concert or performance, but we will be with our two children - ages 4 and 7. Are there family friendly venues and times for shows, especially during that weekend?
Thanks in advance.

Well, there is more than one Christmas Market in Vienna. The "main" one at the City Hall (Rathaus) is a mob scene, so hold on tightly to your kids. The stalls at the Rathaus Market are all outside, however, if you go inside the city hall, they have nice activities set up for smaller kids, like making cookies.

The best market for kids is the one at Karlsplatz. At Karlsplatz, they have a petting zoo, a huge hay play area and other great kid activities. Karlsplatz also has the best food and crafts.

I'd also check out the markets at Schonbrunn, Altes AKH and Spittelberg as they are the most authentic.

As for music concerts, etc., I honestly cannot think of anything not geared to kids that would be family friendly. Small kids, cranky Austrians and classic music do not mix.

This link provides some info on venues which are geared towards kids: https://www.wien.info/en/vienna-for/families/indoor/grand-opera-for-little-people.
