Monchberg path up mountain in Salzburg

Is there more than one path up the Monchberg mountain? I will run in the mornings and would like to do his on one, or more, of my runs. I have tried to find the answer by looking at maps and on line, but that is not helping. Any advice from someone who has walked or hiked it will be appreciated. Any other running advice also appreciated.

I'm not sure you realize the issues with running that path. It's very steep, it's got multiple types of surface, and there are irregular steps. There is another way up the hill, by going further east and around Kloster Nonnburg, but I don't know if the gates are always open. I have walked that. You could easily (relatively) run (or walk) around the mountain by going around the Nonnburg and continuing west until you hit the tunnel. I did that back in 2011.

You might also want to look at the Kapuzinerburg (across the river); it's much more accommodating to running and walking.

Yes, there are multiple ways to get up to Monchberg mountain. There are steps up from several sides as well as the ways that RS mentions in his book.

The official website of the City of Salzburg describes six different ways up the Mönchsberg:
https://www.stadt-salzburg.at/internet/wirtschaft_umwelt/natur/stadtberge/moenchsberg_370694/wege_auf_den_moenchsberg_370065.htm
The page is in German only, but using e.g. Google Translate you should be able to understand.

This map might be helpful; it describes the hiking trails in Salzburg city, i.e. on Mönchsberg, Kapuzinerberg, and Gaisberg:

Thank you all very much. I don’t know why I could not find all that!
I don’t mind the rough terrain on my run, or the steps.
