Do we need to reserve tickets for the Magic Flute in Vienna on Sept. 13 in advance, or will they be available a couple of days ahead of time?

Vienna State Opera ?, I would buy as soon as possible , " Flute " is a particularly loved and popular opera and even if it is one of the other venues , the audience participation in Vienna is far greater than here in the states . The Metropolitan Opera here in NYC has been suffering from a decline in attendance for several years .

Just looked at Sam's link , it's at the Volksoper . One other bit to add - You are only talking about three weeks away , I would buy them now , Enjoy !

Its at the Volksoper. I am curious if "Guys and Dolls", which is staged the night before, will be in German or English with German supertitles. If in English, how the Austrian cast handles "Runyanese" dialect.

As best as I can tell ( looking at the website ) , it's in German , so interpreting Damon Runyon will take on a whole new meaning ( literally ) . I've played this show more times than I can count ( on Broadway , member of the orchestra ) during the early nineties revival ( with Nathan Lane ) . This production looks interesting , to say the least - The Hotbox girls look like they collided with the Kitkat girls from " Cabaret " and the " Adelaide " in this production reminds me of " Frau Schneider " , also a character in " Cabaret " . nonetheless , it looks like great fun to see a Viennese interpretation of a " New Yawk " show . " Flute " also looks wonderful , wish I could be there !
