We will be traveling from Lucerne to Salzburg late May (4 adults and one 12 year old). Planning to train, but would like to make a quick stop in Vaduz. Is this possible? Seems to be a train to a bus to Vaduz then a train again? Also, will the Swiss pass be useful on part of this trip. We will have an 8 day pass and this will be day 8 on the pass.

Correct, a train and a short bus ride to get to Vaduz and back to the train via the bus. I wouldn't do it in one day. Lucerne to Salzburg via Vaduz is over a 6 hour trip. Spend a night in Vaduz to break up the trip.

Having once spent the evening in Vaduz I can certainly state that there is nothing to really do in Vaduz. It may have changed in the ten years or so since I have been there but I am content to now just pass through on the train.
