Thanks for your help. I’ll be booking flights from LA to Vienna in October. There’s a 9 hour time difference and the 15 hour minimal flight time. I’d like to arrive in Vienna during daylight hours.
Does anyone have experience with booking this flight from the west coast, and can you recommend a best travel schedule, what worked for you? Thanks again. Karen
We’ve flown this route recently for a great price through Munich to Vienna on Lufthanse. Right now I see there is a fare for only $650 on Air Tahiti through London. Most other mainline airlines are twice that amount for this coming October. The times aren’t bad, the airline is great and I would book this fare NOW if it were me.
Edit: We have flown this airline in previous years from lax to Paris so I have positive experience with Air Tahiti.
I would look at Austrian Airlines, I flew them non stop from SFO in 11 hours to Vienna.

Fly direct on Austrian.
Austrian Airlines is the only airline offering a non-stop flight from LAX to VIE; it arrives in Vienna at noon.
Return fare is about $730 (as of now).
