We are looking for recommendations for tour companies that set up self guided bike tours from Vienna to Budapest. There are a lot out there...has anyone had good experiences with a particular company?

I haven't done the particular ride you mention, but I have done 12 self-guided rides in Europe. I can recommend Pure-Adventures, which I've booked with 3 times. They do have a Vienna-Budapest tour. P-A communicates well, supplies excellent bikes, maps, and GPS, and offers 2-3 options for hotels and rides. I did take a Danube cruise which connected the two cities, and the ride along the river looked relatively flat and easy. Enjoy!
